In October 2012 the HSE introduced a “Fee for Intervention” scheme which allows them to charge businesses at a current rate of £188.00 per hour their time, starting as soon as they identify a material breach of any regulation that results in the serving of an improvement, prohibition notice or prosecution, more and more notices are now being served at the time of routine visits.
Workplace accidents cannot be totally prevented, but the likelihood and severity of them can be dramatically reduced with a robust health and safety management system that ensures risks are identified and controlled in accordance with the requirements of HSE guidance document HSG(G)65.
